6024 King Edward 1 and 7802 Bradley Manor head the Staite Pullman approaching Teignmouth. This was a retirement present for Bernard Staite, special train co-ordinator for EWS. Diesel hauled from Victoria to Taunton steam took over for the run to Paignton. Pete Waterman was one of the passengers. For information on steam specials goto www.uksteam.info

  • Anyone know what the speed limit is here and how fast that was? Superb stuff, thanks!!

  • The back of the speedboard you can see is for 60mph

  • 7803 is the wrong number. Bradley Manor is 7802. Good video and I bet the voyager driver had a shock.

  • Thanks for pointing that out. Details amended.

  • As a photographer and former 'Steam Nut' I have to say that is one nice piece of camera work.Very professional.Great stuff.

  • Thank you. To think I only found out about this train 30 minutes before and I had my camera!

  • excuse my french but that was fucking epic!

  • Almost 68,000 lb of tractive effort there, it rather shows! Nice, very nice.

  • i like this so much. i think that the black paintwork on the 426 was beautiful. i went on the southern watercress line and saw a black 358. it was remarkable.

  • jist like a toy train

  • excellent video. i love steam. 5* and fav

  • Wonderfull!! I can't believe this was 2005. I rememember it so well and Bernard Staite. Great man! 5*

  • My dad knew Bernard well. First through work, but also as fellow Worcester Loco Society members, and then supporting KGV at Bulmers. One of my earliest memories is running around the yard at Bulmers with Bernard on the footplate of the Peckett. We returned home filthy and my mum was none too pleased! A lovely guy, a fitting tribute.

  • on the inside track its 75mph
