Your so dumb we're gonna put a whole chapter after you, put that in your pipe and smoke it, and then put that pipe in your pocket, and then learn how to fish.

wow i had trouble with m y leader slapping the fly line and the forearm advice helped out alot thanks boonie!

Instead of teaching this guy to hold hands apart during the backcast, why not just teach him a single haul? Holding the line down in his non-casting arm down is essentially imparting the same effect as a single haul, but without knowing the mechanics of the technique, and being able to
use it with better timing. Additionally, the guy is going to having to un-learn that habit when he does perform a single or double haul.
