MEP Exposes The EU Lisbon Treaty!!!

Im for the lisbon treaty and a united europe. i know usa works mostly the same and usa is really fucked up.. but i think it will work better here, and thus far i think its been fine, its not a fasist/nazist takeover...

Today the treaty is made. Besides speculation, what real big things would take place? And should I be afraid? o_O

We Dutch still want our referendum. I think 90% of the Dutch don't know who's the president of the EU. Never the less, EU makes 85% of the rules with that treaty.

That's exactly the way it ought to be!

The Lisbon Treaty will (Rightfully!) Take a significant amount of decision making power away from smaller countries.

The way things currently are at least a few of the smaller, less populated countries will ALWAYS prevent any tangiable action from being taken, with Lisbon they can't stand in the way anymore without the backing of one or more of the "big six" (Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Poland) Since if the six are in agreement anything will be passed, which is how it should be.

Didn't our forefathers fight the Nazis to stop this sort of thing happening?

It is kind of sad that what could not be implemented by force, now is between implemented little by little with subtle and misleading politics.
It reminds of the Frog Analogy; if you put a Frog in a pot of boiling water the frog immediately jumps out. But if you put that same Frog in the pot while the water is cool and slowly increase the temperature of the pot until water starts to boil, the Frog never knew what hit him.
The Centralization of Power only leads to tyranny.

This would be a direct insult to the men and women who died for that very reason, what is the difference between The European Union and Nazi Germany? This basically says they died for nothing! Unforgivable!

One important change this Treaty will make (since it soon comes into Law) will be the power of one EU member state to veto decisions effecting the EU. It will be decided only by popular vote which in effect gives the EU more power then the EU states.

I can see Europe breaking up if it continues to operate in this way. At the end of the day its down to the people and when the people realise their nationality has been put into single nationality I think changes back will occur.
