This was a guest lecture delivered on campus on Nov. 4, 2009 by Dr. Samuel Trosow, who is an Associate Professor jointly appointed to the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Information & Media Studies at The University of Western Ontario. Dr. Trosow provided a brief overview of Canadian copyright law, considered how it is practised on university campuses, and asked how the appropriate balance can be struck that will adequately protect creators while not becoming an impediment to teaching, learning, research and cultural expression.
