it's not uncommon for wild dogs to chew on branches, especially the pups. But I'm always concerned when I see this, as it's a typical symptom of the rabies virus. But the pups were just loving this mopanie stump. The tannins and resins in mopanie are probably what they enjoy and the burny taste it leaves in their mouth afterwards.

  • when they have the rabie virus, some dogs chew on branches, its one of the symptoms. maybe out of frustration or agression. but these dogs were just having fun
