I got my first set of planting done on my LA balcony garden.

To start, I planted Kale, Purple Kale, Romaine Lettuce and Oak Greens in five self-watering containers. There is still plenty of space and need to pick up more containers, plants and get my seeds started as well.

It's a good start for things to come.

  • Awesome stuff here :-)

  • @TheGreenerItGets Thanks!

  • @CanarsieBK No problem! I really want to start growing my own veggies, but I'm not sure how to get started yet. Research research...

  • @TheGreenerItGets Stop the research and just get started. It's the hardest part, but just do it and learn as you go. That's what I'm doin. Check out my gardening blog Urban Organic Gardener.

  • Gotta admire your determination. I'm afraid I don't have the patience to deal with seeds (I saw some packets there). Small plants seem to be doing well. Good Luck and keep that accent real! Love it.

  • @BalconyOasis Thanks. C'mon seeds ain't all that bad to deal with. Make it happen. I'll never lose the accent.

  • @bookhound63 Thank you very much. The life is thriving in many ways.

  • Hey! For some reason I have been missing your vids. Just got caught up. But, I do remember watching your kindergarten vids and thinking "Canarsie's got a girlfriend." Looks like I was right. Congrats on everything, the move, the girlfriend (she's a cutie), the bigger balcony and the longer growing season. I hope your life thrives there.

  • @CanarsieBK hey no worries, I jus appreciate what ur doing and yes, I set some new tomatoes off...and the ones that snapped are still growing out side shoots, so these 2 will jus be a lil different to the "norm" which is cool too :0)

  • @emt845 Hahah. She told me should wouldn't have approved of this 10 years ago. She's accepted that times have changed. Very understanding of her.
