  • i am having trouble feeding the red powder , do i feed it straight? or mix it with egg food?

  • feed it in egg food or mixed in water

  • I ve changed now,i use pure carofyl in the eggfood i make. With water, the room gets pretty mess. You start it at the hens before you put them with the cocks, they pas the color through the egg to the chicks, and you give it again when the chicks hatch.Veryy good results,if you wanna see my birds, tell me.

  • @11panos04 yes it can make a mess when the carophill is put in the water a lot of breeders put it in the soft food mix, i only put thr colouring in the water when the young have left the nest because you require the young birs to have white flight wing and tail fethers with out this you would not be able to show your birds thats how you no the birs are un-flighted the bird becomes flighted om its second moult when its flight and tail fethers are shed and the new ones take up the red die.

  • i wait about 2 months after they have fleged

  • whats that in there drinking water ?

  • @ollie0362

the drinking water is mixed with a powder called carophyll red its this that makes the birds fethers tern red, after the bird has molted out you stop putting it in the water.and the bird will stay red until the next molt.

  • extraordinary of bird, like this..can not send to Indonesia, if can pm me

  • @glynmar123 Red canaries are the same race with red with white flight wings. To make them white you have to start giving red dye after 40 days of birth, but to make them all red you must start giving it to the hen,at least 10 days before eggs are born. You can make any red intensive for example, red with white wings, they re called ''rosso di bianco'',and although they re the same race,in greece they compete on different categories.

  • hi glyn, im just wondering, what the stuff is called that u put in the red factors water and also the food, and how long have u got to give the red factor food to the chicks, and have u got to give the parents the same, thanks

  • how long do you wait to color them up? im guessing 3 months

  • I used bogena red intensief in their water,to make them red.
