From a "The PW Torch Livecast," hosts Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell discuss the ways that Hulk Hogan is a MASTER backstage politician, including his attempts to SCREW OVER Bret Hart in WCW.
@donn409 they all look the same with maybe 1 or 2 technical wrestling moves again he is a one trick pony last dont get so defensive when people talk about hogan the way we do on here its like well i will say it like this does hogan pay your bills does hogan put food in your stomach keep a roof over your head clothes on your back no its god that does it and your will to live / survive in this world

independent wrestler on the indie scene and in ROH but once he came into wwe he had to tone it down which stinks because if he was able to do all his roster of wrestling moves he could prove what a great wrestler he is but since vince mcmanon doesnt want to pay higher insurances fee's to cover his wrestlers when they get hurt they are ask to tone it down i think it was sherri martel who said this in card subject to change about what i just mentioned the point i seen alot of hogans matches and

JoseATurner In 1/4/99 Kevin Nash pinned himself. The ratings kept dropping because neither Hulk nor his friends wrestled after that. In 4/4/2000 they were 1.8. Case closed.

On January 4, 1999 Kevin Nash pinned himself. The ratings on that day were 4.9. Do how excited the audience was? Do you see their disappointment? Because of inertia the ratings went to 5.0s shortly after that. People believed for a long time Hulk or the WCW would make it up to them but all they got was cattle prods and Hell Angles to win matches. In March 1999 the ratings began the slow steady decline. By April 4, 2000 they had dropped to 1.8.

@mistycat1 Russo, Bischoff, and Hogan brought the ratings threw the roof and made Ted Turner millions. They brought in Macho Man, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Kurt Hennig, Roddy Piper, Ultimate Warrior, Lex Lugar, and Bret Hart, despite this idea that nobody wanted to work with Hogan. They also developed guys like Scott Steiner, DDP, Goldberg, Chris Jerricho, Giant, and Rey Mysterio. WCW did do some things wrong, mainly around 2002, but they were still great, and it would've happened without Hogan.

@mistycat1 I just find it hard to see how they put up a road block between WCW and success. Less than a year after the n.W.o. formed, WCW Monday Nitro was the most watched television show in America at any time-slot. Hogan's movie was the third-highest watched made for TV movie premier of all time just because Sting signed a contract during one of the commercials. WWF needed Austin to flip the bird, drink & curse, girls to get near naked, and the DX to copy nWo just to keep close.
