Russel T Davies only joked about the hand belonging to the Rani, he never actually said it was, just something to bring back the Master

Russell T Davies said it was "The Hand of the Rani" as a joke.
RESEARCH A BIT MORE NEXT TIME

Nice video mate, aldo mostly wrong.
Why does the master always return from the ash?
-
@DoctorRobinHarkness dude, you the one who needs to calm down, your wrong, the hand wasn't the rani. so i suggest you check facts man.
-
well its all been disproven now, the hand that picks up the ring isn't the rani. so its all up in the air again. lol

Hmm, the thing is, in The Sound of Drums, the reporter woman told Lucy Saxon that all of her information (Lucy's childhood, schooling, etc.) checked out. But all of the same information regarding the master had been fabricated.
I think Lucy Saxon is just someone that the Master manipulated and then pushed aside. I'm am interested to see what she will do in these next two episodes.

I came here for a bunch of pix of lucy who is teh hot. Very disappointing. Plus her fingernails aren't long enough.

My theory is that Lucy was most likely brainwashed by the Master, and did know of his plan with the ring, as she is returning in this season's final two specials with him, but she is not the Rani.
Now as for the Doctor's pretty new Redhead companion for Doc 11...We'll see...

I doubt it for several reasons:
1. The Rani is not that Dumb. Couldn't even act that dumb.
2. Even for a disguise, the Rani would never abandon her Red Hair.
3. She would have to have been using a Chameleon Circuit for the Doctor not to have known of her existence, and while I believe she probably survived the Time War, I find it unlikely she'd end up on Earth playing a Dumb Blonde.
4. RTD has stated that if the Rani shows up Gillian Anderson was going to cast. She'd be awesome, no?

The rani is back
the rani is a girl and has red finger nails
when the master dies he throws the ring to her then the rani picks it up and the master laughs BUT is it Donna or Lucy?
-
I actually think Donna's ring in Journey's End, the big one if the same as the one in here and let's say the Master stored himself into the fob watch... he could store himself in a ring, and Donna could without knowing so that way they can both come back.
And R.T.D. said that that hand actually belonged to Julie Gardner, and that was just a rumor about the Rani hand, though i DO think the whole "Rani=Lucy Saxon" is a good idea!!! :D
Not trying to bash you, just saying what I think!

Lucy Saxon is in one of the Specials and interacts with The Master it has been confirmed by The BBC. So you could be right. I wish Kate O Mara had played her though
Taken from Wikipedia (his 'source')
"Davies also jokingly termed the hand seen removing the Master's ring from the ashes of his funeral pyre "the hand of the Rani".

Sorry. Wrong again. In the latest Doctor Who Magazine - he confirmed that the story about the ring will be revealed at a later date. He did not confirm that the hand was the Rani's. Stop lying!!!
