For some reason I don't like the look of kde, Gnome 2 was great but gnome 3 notsomuch,
lxde and xfce are good but lack the modern look and don't say unity. Why has linux failed to give a good desktop for me? :(

nice screencast... i'm thinking of switching to fedora or korora becouse kde will drop down from ubuntu after 12.04 but i'm not that good in compiling stuff... but with kde and cmake are a lot more easy now :P

Re. install updates :
Just installed Kororaa 16 and am in the process of updating packages flagged as having updates available. One is for ... something Adobe anyway and the error or warning message says that the mirror or defined repository is not available and to use another one, instead.
How is that to be done
Am having difficulty with some punctuation mark keys using a French (Cdn Fr. anyway) keyboard and set the default language to UK English. This works in Win XP it is not working now.
I configure and compile kernels for debian based systems. Does Kororaa support .deb packaging? If not do you know a good Gnome 3 system that supports them? I tried Linux Mint 12, but it does not support my needs. :3
Thanks and great videos and Happy Holidays!

@DARTHZANRUIT No Kororaa is an .rpm distro like Fedora, but if you wanted an Ubuntu based Gnome 3 distro you could check out either Luninux OS, or Gubuntu. Hope that helps... :-)

Does this Distro have video+wireless drivers working out of the box?
The odd things I've noticed about the kickoff menu is that if lets say you type in (without the quotes) "fir" - it wont necessarily find Firefox or Firewall etc. until you type in the full name or at least most of the name. Also not everything seems to show up on the kickoff menu search.
Is it possible to have colorful system tray icons like in LinuxMint-9-KDE?

@Laoch111 Usually it will automatically install drivers or it will ask you if you want to install the drivers automatically by selecting 'Additional Drivers' in the menu. Not sure about 'Kickoff' as I usually use Lancelot Menu on KDE distro's.
And the system tray icons can only be white, unless you change the icon theme.
Hope that helped. Good luck! :-)

What is your favorite desktop environment?

@Ograws At this stage...(grimaces...opens one eye) Ubuntu's Unity(!) Shock, horror. It's just simple, it works, and once you get used to it (which I have) it's very efficient. That doesn't mean it's everyone's cup of tea, it just works better for my brain than Gnome shell or KDE.
