Highway 16 is a great drive from Marmarth to Alexander, North Dakota. This is a summary of the southern portion, to just south of Golva. This portion leads through an area of Badlands; both private and public land. It's a gorgeous drive, but the road isn't the greatest. It turns to slime in the rain and there are several low water crossings.

If I ever redo this movie, I will film it without so much panning.

  • I'm glad you like it!

I agree about Chicago vs. North Dakota. You can keep your traffic. I'll take North Dakota any day!

  • Alice Lamb aged 89, says she remembers the Finnemans well. She grew up in Marmarth and hated it.

  • i guess both places have their drawbacks.

It still a pristine rolling expanse of fertile grasslands that omniously dominate the landscape.

  • such a beautiful area
