More than 2,000 people from Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, gathered at Discovery Green in the heart of Houston to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. The purpose of Dance Your Shoes Off! was to proclaim the resurrection of Jesus Christ in a powerful and celebratory way. Most importantly, each participant left a new pair of shoes on the field for those in need. These shoes will be given to local mission agencies, including Star of Hope, individuals all across the world through our mission partners and mission trips.

NOTE: This event was inspired by our fellow believers in Budapest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5dSIL358NM.

CREDITS: The song was commissioned by Second Baptist Church for this event. It is called "Rise Up" sung by Lauren James Camey and produced by Joshua Moore. Voice over by Lyle Countryman. Song is available on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/rise-up-from-dance-your-shoes/id432384241?i=...

  • I wish I could have been there, I don't even care that I didn't know the dance, I would be right out there trying my best. It is precious to see young, old, light skin and dark skin all one, celebrating our savior!! Tears were flooding my eyes as I watched this video and to all you nay sayers, it can happen and it did, and I'm pretty sure it will again!! No stopping God!!

  • @bluechicken9999 If they delete all comments against their faith, then what is your spewed hatred doing here 8 months later?

  • @saltruj Seriously? I don't see any one picketing a funeral with a "God hats fags" sign, or a suicide bomber killing themselves to get to all their virgins! What I see is a large group of people coming together to take part in something they believe in praising some ONE they believe in. How is that extreme?

  • @gamboarocky89 And you know this how?

  • @darrenpanglefitness Mt daughter (age 6) has been watching the video over and over and everytime you are on, she says "Mama - there's that cowboy again!" Thank you to you and your church for doing this video. What an awesome experience it must have been!

  • @TheDrew712 There are numerous places throughout the bible that talk about the children of God dancing in honor of HIS name.. How can you say something like this wrong?

  • @9844wp Why?

  • Let's "occupy" city parks and town squares all across the United States with the GLORY & PRAISE of JESUS CHRIST, our King and Lord, as they did in this Houston, Texas park. OCCUPY until He returns. Let's unite small congregations in our small towns to do something BIG like this in the Spring and Summer of 2012. We can start working on this now, and prepare to see the GLORY of the Lord, "RISE UP"! Who's with me?

  • @hannahjholmes88 yes it is , The Love of God is there , you can see it on their faces :) , I never heard this song till now, its a awesome song

  • It's so beautiful, the faces of people full with joy and faith.. i had my eyes wet.. :)

  • Thank you for inspiring us to dance for our Lord!
