@taliesin9399 You couldn't be more wrong. To compare the only true God to idols of men is absolutely blaspemous. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God therefore none of the other gods compare to them. No baptism is not pagan. You don't know what in the world you are talking about.
So say people, all people, come to the conclusion that all is made up hokum. Ok.
What satisfaction is there now in living. Some individuals require a "guidebook". You take the guidebook away, you take away routine, ritual, rules.... what kinds of things would you expect to occur then. I know some people right away, who would probably go crazy and become rather destructive and the prisons would bust apart at the seams with wandering, focus-less, angry madmen.
Maybe you should just say exactly what Easter is, instead of saying, "Look! It's not that bullshit god, it's this bullshit god!"
Easter is simply a celebration for the end of winter. Regardless of whom people thanked when it began, they were celebrating because it wasn't going to be cold anymore.
All right, you know the beginnings of Easter. Whoop-de-fucking-do. Celebrate the resurrection as you have for the past few hundred years and we'll celebrate what we've been celebrating for thousands of years.
"Worship" is also pagan. "Eating" is pagan. We are all born pagan. The reality is found in Christ. If you worship like a pagan, change it and worship in spirit and in truth. If you eat like a pagan, eat like a Christian who give thanks to God. If you live a life of paganism, like one like that of Christ.
all three monotheistic faiths are based in paganism. the hebrew god began as a tribal deity. over time this evolved into the idea of monotheism, from henotheism. the concept of god evolves throughout the bible. i am a comparative religions major. i have my masters and am working on my phd with the goal of teaching. its all pagan.
newer religions are based on those which came before. its that simple. there is no reason to bring in mythical beings to explain it. its that simple. older religions affect newer ones. there is nothing original. only a remixing of age-old ideas. you should examine in more detail the universal themes of religion. they are archetypes. certain themes are repeated again and again.
the cross is a pagan symbol of the sun. immaculate conception is pagan. human mother divine father. virgin birth. death and resurrection. the practice of god-eating (communion.. bread and wine) is pagan. babtism is pagan. many of the names of God from the bible are names of older pagan gods. such as El, Adonai, etc. moses goes up mt sinai. sinai is named after the babylonian moon god sin. sin's egyptian equivalent is yah. trinity is a pagan concept. the bible is full of numerology.

All these myths and rituals are simply human. The sooner we realize it the better.
