Couldn't find a video of reboot or charge issues with the TP, so I made one. But I did find quite a few discussions about it online. Basically what happened is I drained the battery ONCE, and since then have had all sorts of charging issues and odd behavior from the phone with two different batteries. Have done hard reset multiple times. The replacement battery works and still does, but the charge indicator will never stop pulsating if charging while the phone is on or on standby, therefore the phone never detects a full charge and goes solid, it just keeps pulsating. If left plugged in, eventually it heats up, starts boot loop, or drops from an indicated full charge to critically low in a short period. This video was taken with the replacement battery installed and showed all of the above symptoms prior to shooting the video. Eventually I was able to get it to boot, then turned it off completely, let it sit and finally plugged it back in which resulted in a full successful charge cycle where the pulsating light went solid. This does not work with the original battery, the phone will boot as soon as the phone is plugged in. I suppose an external charger may be a solution if this continues to happen.

  • Please report Sprint and HTC to the Federal Trade commission. This in unacceptable that consumers are being held responsible for faulty hardware. I paid a little over $200 for my Evo after a mail- in rebate. I'm careful with my electronics, a they are expensive and I have no money to waste. I bought my Evo in Dec 2010 and Sprint and the insurance company refuse to give me a complementary replacement saying it's my fault that the charging port is defective.
