A psychedelic reel of sounds and pagan techno, join us as Tronic live in Stereo promises to be a very exciting night indeed.

LUKE ABBOTT

(Border Community)

Abbott has emerged from the electronic woodland, into the Border Community as one of the scenes rising stars. The forward thinking label spotting early on, the producers musical ability, and love of experimenting with electronic gadgetry.

His second ep release Whitebox Stereo from the label at the tail end of last year, is being tagged, Mathematical yet ultimately hedonistic, the future of what we might hear in the club. A real box of treats for those that like meditative, melancholic music designed for the dance floor. We cant agree more and Abbott as a live performer really does release a natural energy through his sets, whether its from a forward progressive techno drive or more laidback experimental tinkering of fuzzy white noise.

Domineering, unrelenting and an undeniable big tune, 'Whitebox Stereo' is entrancing in the truest sense of the word with its mathematically morphing musical progressions, whilst the moody, melancholy 'Pavilion' erupts into a wash of progressively more joyful arpeggios

ARAYA

(Benbecula Records)

One of Scotland's finest, Araya (Keir MacCulloch) returns to Tronic to showcase his brand new material in his latest release Whilst We Try. Interesting choice of title, in that some might have to try, whilst Keir seemingly doesnt. Music flowing naturally to this super northern producer and this, just like his first ep, is once again a bit special.

Having been signed to the infamous Benbecula Records, Araya has since honed his unique sound to incorporate a brighter organic sound, with new tracks like Sergio Leone hinting at a more Mediterranean influence. Uplifting, emotive and full of energy is what you can expect from Araya on the night. With his laptop and all sorts of gadgetry (Nintendo DS to control his effects maybe?) expect to be fully immersed in Araya's musical world.

With great response from homeland and European crowds, the EP proves to be ideal for both headphones and the club.

MODIFIER

(Paintwork / Tronic)

An explosion of electro and breaks, delivered with passion and precision from two of the scenes most prolific producers. This is what we have come to expect from the band Modifier now operating from different sides of the world. Still together as one but now a world apart, (Chris Shelswell relocating to New Zealand) Sean Kerwin is left at the controls this side of the northern hemisphere.

The digital duo once paired together was never going end that easily. Not even with eleven thousand miles between them. Music bridges the gap, and those at Tronic always knew their sound would go Global.

Modifier represent an amalgamation of musical style and genre but refuse to be consumed by it. With undertones of electro, techno, house, industrial and IDM, they focus on melody and texture for definition. Drawing on the soul, Modifier is about conveying emotion, whether that is sadness or energy, melancholy or paranoia, but ultimately its about the music

LEIGH MYLES
(Soma / FVF Records)

Hailing from Glasgow, and having releases on Glasgows own Soma records and Dublin based FVF, Leigh Myles is an artist that takes her genre of music to new heights. With bass lines to rumble through the dance floor and synth lines that stab at you in all the right areas, her style of house/techno electronica is innovative, fresh and exciting.

Mixed with this is her vocals, lush, emotive and with an engaging twist. Using various gadgets, Leigh samples her voice and in doing so is able to create a unique vocal sound comprising of many layers. Thus taking her audience through the musical story of her creations, for which those at Tronic are more than happy to follow.

After recent slots supporting Redshape her credentials are rising all the time, and Myles is proving to be yet another shining jewel to add to Glasgows musical crown.
