On August 7, 1963, Jackie gave birth prematurely to her son Patrick; he was the last child Jackie was to carry, and he lived only two days. Following baby Patrick's death, Jackie spiraled into a serious depression, from which her younger sister Lee Radziwill tried to help her recover. Lee invited Jackie for an October cruise on Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis' yacht, the Christina, to give Jackie some solace from her loss, and a week away from the pressures of being First Lady.

JFK Jr. really was the son of Fiat owner Gianni Agnelli. It's too bad Jackie had to lie to him and try to pass him off as his biological son esp. since he looked nothing like our 35th president.

It's nice to see these clips. But the newsreel narrator at around 1:24 is so corny and schmaltzy that I want to turn down the volume. It's almost as if that newsreel was for children. Best first family we ever had.

The Kennedys were very adept at giving appearances of wholesome family happiness. The fact the media gave cover to Presidential dalliances back then helped keep that facade going. It must've been a real challenge for them because Kennedy was quite a busy hound.

@Jane1620 I read once that some Newsman heard the President call to John but said it very quickly that it sounded like he was calling him John-John.  John hated that name and got into a lot of fights in school when other kids callld him that.
