You NEVER want to use bleach on a hoof because it not only kills the infected, thrushy tissue, but also the HEALTHY tissue in the hoof that is needed to grow in place of the thrush. Instead, try some diluted Apple Cider Vinegar and water.. it's supposed to do the same thing and not fry your horse's hoof...
@titansmommy The incorrect form also causes a variety of pressing and prying lever forces on the corium. Dead corium material or blood may grow out with horn. With a g.p. coffin bone the hoof capsule grows tight like a zipper all the way around. When it is not g.p. it is subject to lever forces.
Looks to me like that horse has an umbilical hernia not a dirty sheath like one comment suggests.
