Gaslighting comes very natural to some ppl.
Aside from those who like to torture, many just like
to be told what to do. I was when I was young.
In organized stalking & gaslighting hired pros
are able to turn average ppl into gaslighters b/c
professional breaks & favors will follow.
In competitive fields (acting, helping professions, LE)
ppl will fall all over themselves to manufacture
some "harmless" street theater coincidences
like bumping, spitting, seduction, invasion of space, lying.

gaslighting is also the name of a movie from the 50's or 60's. the main characters names are Greg and Paula. i learned about the movie while doing research about abuse and mind & emotional pain. i actually went "crazy" when i learned about the movie because i was married to a man named Greg (who is now in jail). i was his second wife. his first wife's name was Paula.
gaslighting is a disgusting thing to do to someone and should be treated by the Law as a crime of attempted murder.

Closely listen to an Inception dvd made before the Arizona shootings.

if it's not yur mental illness, yur being gang stalked. hate 2 tell u. write yur local congressman, move to an isolated area, don't believe all the disinfo about it on the web, take an active approach to fighting it all. moving does help, tho not totally...

(continued) I’m not in their body; I don’t know what is going on inside them unless they tell me. They will not tell unless they feel safe that they are heard.
Sometimes I come home and cry because of what they tell me.
Yes. You CAN talk for shit! Don’t stop.

(continued) that no one would what to be in the type of situation I was in with that particular person. For one thing he smelled too bad for anyone with a normal sense of smell to be around (in hindsight the smell may have been caused by a medical condition and/or neglict and/or child abuse). Other kids bullied me because of him. They said he was my boyfriend. He encouraged such statements. I don't think he knew what the difference between a "girlfriend" and a girl you just think is nice.
I work with high schoolers with Asperger’s.
Your message validated what I see every day with them, how other teachers see them and how I respond to my students. I’m told that I “encouraged” these “behaviors” because I believe in validating the reality of their feelings and experience and to self advocate.

@msparapeg awesome thanks. I work with kids & adults with disabilities some and it is is really disturbing how much staff often just want to make people be quiet and compliant (even people who are severely disabled and have to put in a lot of effort to make decisions). I'm glad you "encourage" "behaviors."

I also think that I may have done this to myself when I was 8 and had a painful relationship against my will with a mentally retarded student (What do they call it where you're from? They can't seem to decide what to call it here.). It was difficult for me to understand what was going on, how I felt about it, and what to do. If such a thing happened to me now I would act more maturely and stick up for myself. It isn't that I'm prejudiced against people with such a diagnosis, it's

@susas99 Intellectual disabilities is what I would say. I definitely think both people with autism and people with intellectual disabilities can get stuck in relationships they don't want or even be abused, because we are taught that we don't know what's going on and we shouldn't be rude. It's really depressing. I was recently reading about how some people with ID confess to crimes they haven't committed because they're often scared of authority figures or don't want to say they are confused.
