Armenian New Year's Eve Party (1963)

Back to a time before the Hippies, Beatles and Woodstock.
The early 60's were a time of innocence and fresh fun!
My mother (who is 44 years of age in this video) was the most beautiful lady at the party.
She is the brunette with the bubble hairdo, red lipstick, powder blue sleeveless top, and powder blue high heels.
My father (at 46) is sporting a black moustache, red tie, white long sleeved shirt and a party hat. He is the one who takes his party hat off when he stands next to the man playing the oud instrument.
The music is really fun to hear too!

You are so right...the days of elegant house parties seem to be passe' (aka a thing from the past)'.

I will tell you that the very men who wear shorts and flip flops during the day...change their behavior and attitude for the better when wearing their best sunday best.

Its true...and they will be the first to admit it!

When's the last time anyone went to an elegant houseparty like this with men

in suits and ties and women wearing their gorgeous best...not a flip flop to be

seen! The strains of Guy Lombardo and other greats tug at my heart strings

(yes, I'm old enough ro remember!) Adore Armenian dancing, music &

food even though I'm Ukrainian in descent! When they say "A good time was

had by all" they really meant it in this case! Thank you armeniananjel for
