We run a free weekly Pushing Hands session in Regent's Park, London.

Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn!

Brilliant, whether rain or shine (or snow!). An opportunity to play, exchange and share with different people, surrounded by the wonderful flora and fauna of Regent's Park.

Every Saturday, 9am-10.30am

These sessions consist of non-style-based Tai Chi Pushing Hands exercises. Great for those wishing to improve their skills and those with an interest in competing. Everyone is welcome and the sessions are free! Sessions are relaxed though demanding and require an eagerness to train outdoors throughout the seasons!

Led and organised by the School's principal teacher, Barry McGinlay.

Location:
Regent's Park Bandstand (beside the boating lake)
Nearest station: Baker Street

  • Tai Chi Union for Great Britain (TCUGB) Executive Committee member Marnix Wells later wrote of last Saturday's session: "Found the Saturday morning pushing hands group practice at Regent's Park bandstand really good. It was really helpful to practise specific techniques as well as enjoy some free style pushing. There was as usual a really open and friendly atmosphere of instruction in taiji form applications and sharing of experience. Best wishes for Dragon Year, Marnix

  • Last Saturday's session saw two members of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain's (TCUGB) Executive Committee - Tony Ulatowski and Marnix Wells - show their support by joining us and sharing a spot of teaching - thank you very much! Tai Chi Life School

  • Happy New Year! :) It was great to see 13 regular, returning and new people at the New Year's Eve session yesterday! We practised a variety of exercises with some new applications/techniques, which were stimulating, challenging and a lot of fun! :) Thanks to all for a great 2011. Here's to 2012! All the best, Emma

  • Seasons greetings! :) Christmas Eve's session saw 7 of us having a laugh, playing with squirrels and eating yummy homemade festive biscuits and muffins - thanks Carol! :) We explored parrying our partner's strike and then returning with a strike (or two!) of our own using different parts of the body. We also practised some tripping techniques and, continuing on that theme, some lower leg conditioning and strengthening exercises - phew! Looking forward to New Year's Eve's session! :) Em

  • We had a really good session this morning :) It was great to see 13 people out a week before Christmas! There was beautiful frost on the ground and sun in the sky :) We worked some stimulating exercises exploring contact with the neck and chest and enjoyed some freestyle play. Looking forward to Christmas Eve's session! :) Em
