The player's ship looks too static. You should have it roll slightly when it moves left and right, and maybe add a little flare to the exhaust when it moves forward.

some constructive criticism benjamin, try to make the effects the size relative to the destroyed object, like the rocket frigade had a tiny explosion, while when you die, there is a huge ass explosion.

it's from a book you can purchase. my gaming company(which we are all 14 years old) has the book too but instead of making games they explain, we make our own. we just use it as a reference.
