go to the poly/mono setting and hit open window button.
You have two slots to assign any pad you want to that pad to shut off when played.

this is sick dude i gotta question. i just got a mpc 2kl myself and i wonder how do u set the pads so when u hit one pad and then hit a nother it stops the previous pad. i set it on mono and when i hit another pad both of the sounds play and im confused
