What happens if a woman doesn't give birth to boys in India?

One hour after labor, the family returs home. The newborn girl is the 10th child of the family with 7 boys and just 2 girls.
(man) "Look! I have a boy. Isn't he beautiful?
Whenever a boy is born we launch a big party! It doesn't happen in case of a girl".
(woman) "If the newborn is male, we slay a cow or a sheep. We celebrate, we dress special, sing and dance like this!"
(man) "If I ever have a boy, I am willing to have debt for the rest of my life to celebrate his birth properly".
(woman, mother of newborn girl) "I agree with my husband. It's natural. A daughter doesn't bring money to her family. She doesn't go to school, she can't read or write. She doesn't go out. She's good for household, to take care of her brothers, to cook. All women here want sons.
If a woman brings only girls to life, at the end her husband dumps her. He divorces her and marries another so as to have a son..."
(man, husband) "We take a second wife hoping that she is a real woman, capable to deliver a son. We could marry a third one, till this works!"
(man) "It as simple as this; if a woman gives birth only to girls, she is unworthy. She is useless if she can't have boys. It's her fault. So we send her back to her parents..."

The REALLY stupid thing is that it's the man's sperm that decides what gender the child will be - so what's the point in getting a new wife - these people are idiots!

the mans sperm determines the sex of the baby so if anyone should be divorcing anyone it should be the woman the man is nthe one who wants the boys then he should stary producing y sperm but i forgot thery dont have education so they wont know that lets teach them lol

Gender equality as per what gender is in a greater position depends on what country. Most if not all Islamic/Muslim countries, women are oppressed, that is one of the many evils of the Islamic belief system. In Canada as another example, it is the opposite, it is men that are vastly becoming the oppressed, you can tell by the amount of men hired and women working in most work places as well as the men vs. women ratio in the homeless stats, men far out rank women, unfortunately, etc.... .
