@Samson - One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is 'Self Control' (Gal 5:22). On the day of Pentecost, people thought the apostles were drunk because they were speaking in tongues - the language they themselves did not know. Tongues was a gift that was bestowed on the apostles to reach out to the gentiles as mentioned in the bible. That day was the first time tongues was spoken and introduced in the bible - hence people thought they were drunk.
