Undoubtedly the greatest leader Bangladesh has ever seen and his best speech. Too bad his party too has been involved in corruption that has destroyed the country and made Bangladeshis slaves to their own government, rather than West Pakistanis.

If your father is still alive pay him my respects, from a Pakistani. He had every reason to fight. Many Pakistanis among the educated realise clearly that Bangladesh was created because East Pakistan was denied its fundamental Rights. Mr. Suharwardy should have been the Prime Minister after Liaquat if not before him. Military governments denied political voice and when Azam Khan wanted to help Bengal he was removed. Ask your elders they would remember Azam Khan. God bless you and Bangladesh.

Is it possible to get this with English subtitles? My understanding from my reading is that he was very close to declaration of independence on this day but stopped and it was only after the 25th March action by Tikka that he pulled the final option out. In fact the governor and Martial Administrator of the time had contacted Awami League to buy time. Unfortunately the command in West Pakistan Bhutto had other idea. They gave birth to Bangladesh; Sheikh Mujib merely mid wived it.

Bangladesh could not yet reach to its aim. we ahve suffered ,suffered and suffered. Our peopels courage is to admire but our administrators patriotism and policy has been seriously questionable. now it is to see wher we go!
