  • Im going to see her perform tomorrow!

  • This piece is especially compelling if you know the poem by Goethe. The genius of the composer, schubert at the time only 18 wrote really frightning music to acompany this dark and at the same time enlightened poem. And well played! Bravo!!

  • Whoa. just whoa. The chords are so hard to keep up with and learn I was almost ready to give up learning it but now hearing this... just whoa. Serious motivation material.

  • ...this is like a piece custom-composed for Yuja, her technique...it "plays itself" under her fingers and gives her little chance to fuck it up...

  • I love it!!! I don't know much about classical piano but Yuja really impressed me with her superb technique and her passionate interpretation. I love her fire and brilliance. Bravo

  • brilliant

  • @marcxopoco I don't think you're judging very fairly. Mainly because you're expecting too much. We all know she's not famous for her interpretational skills. But her accuracy at these speeds aren't equaled by many. She's a superb technician. And while we all love yammering about how it's "the music" that matters, there's no denying that race-cars are impressive in their own way.

She just hasn't been programmed for this (and yes, I'm stereotyping)

  • Man, she plays fast. To fast for my liking. But still very good performance.

  • @marcxopoco. buy a better sound card? Anyway, I bet you'll stop writing aggressive, chauvinistic and judgmental things when you reach that pianist's level. Good luck. (P.S: I don't know how you would assume that I'm a woman, which I am not, but my guess is that you're not one either :-)

  • @marcxopoco >A typical youtube "musical" expert. , who happens to be a professional pianist and a professor at the biggest musical school in France, but doesn't claim to be a youtube "musical" expert in any way. The thing you're talking about is more than a counterpoint, it's the main rythmical element of the piece. I was reacting to your "she's non contrapuntal player", thinking that you had something more subtle in mind. If you can't hear the main rythmical theme, maybe you should
