Emerson wondergram repaired!

I got two emerson Wondergrams, both didn't produce any sound, and one was almost demolished by a bad repair man..

I replaced all the caps, some restoration on the print due to battery acid leakage.
Both work fine, even on big 33rpm records!

just got one of these and the motor isnt turning! do you suppose the motor could

be burned out or just needs cleaning/oiling?

@chompo7 cleaning, but the motor could be burned out, replace the carbon points inside.

I can't even figure out which way the batteries go in. I just picked up one of these for super cheap and I'm trying to figure out if it works. Does it just switch on when you close the cover?

hey i just got one of these, but there's no sound coming out of it, what could be the problem?

also when i put the needle on the record the whole thing grinds to a halt, is it due to a weak motor?
