Took out the original base 350 motor and replaced it with this 355 motor about 2 months ago. Magnaflow exhaust, edelbrock performer intake, holley 670 secondary vacuum carb, hooker super comp. ceramic coated headers, HEI electronic ignition. New master cylinder, new power brake booster, new suspension all around including carbon/kevlar transverse leafspring. New power brake hoses, new intake hoses. Fixed windshield wipers so they now work :) even though it never gets driven in the rain. Fixed horn relay switch. It is now putting out 365 horses at the engine, about 290 to the wheels. I don't have the A/C belt attached as I waiting for a new one to arrive, I snapped the original one last month. I am rebuilding the original 350 motor this winter and fitting it will all the best equipment including forged heads, forged rods, hi performance cam and boring it over to 355 also. I want to get 450 horsepower out of that one when done...should be fun :) I may end up stroking it also to a 383, we will see. Then I should get 500+ horses out of it.

  • i envy you. how much did you buy it for? and how much do you think i can buy one

    (fixer-upper)?

  • @MRxEMPii I bought it in the end of 2007 for $ 16,000 Canadian. I have put in about in about $ 11,000 (new motor, intake, exhaust, electric fan aluminum rad, power brake booster, new master cylinder, rebuilt transmission) since that time. I have been offered $ 30,000 for it last summer from a local person, but I don't want to sell it. It has more intrinsic value to me than even $ 50,000. I will keep this car til my dying day and give it to one of my kids.

A fixer upper should cost you $ 12,000.

  • Just curious, how long have you had it?

  • @TexasMan77 I got the vette in November of 2007, so 3 years ago now.

  • Thank you !! :)
