Rusty Wallace's Plea For Safety At Daytona, February 1994

Rusty Wallace gives an impassioned plea for drivers to "use their heads" during the Winston Cup driver's meeting before the 1994 Daytona 500.

The race took place at the climax of one of the most tragic weeks in NASCAR history with veteran Neil Bonnett and prospective first-timer Rodney Orr perishing in separate violent on-track incidents.

Well, he didn't, because Rusty was partially responsible for causing some of the accidents that sent drivers flipping through the grass, shooting head-on into the wall, etc. Ken Schrader in his comments was right as well, when he said that they'd had a reality check, primarily with the deaths of Neil Bonnett and Rodney Orr.

God i miss nascar. i mean real nascar. when a group of guys like that were in the drivers seats, not these california pretty boys that pollute the tracks today. You just dont see those kinds of personalities today.
