Londoner Eddie Stratton is OMS' slightly insane drummer. However, beyond the insanity lies one of the most intelligent rock musicians there has possibly ever been.
Born in Hammersmith in September 1965, Ed was a self-confessed swot at school, and one of those really annoying people that can read something once and remember it. Despite his straight-A style academic nature, Ed chose the role as a drummer after disregarding the idea of playing bass.
At 21, Ed decided to travel all over Britain, answering adverts for bands. After being chucked out of several for not being too good due to lack of practise area, Ed finally joined One Minute Silence.
Secret talents include his 5-star quality facial imitation of Beavis.

in a statement released in October 2003, the band announced its split:
Although we are still the best of friends, and cannot rule out the possibility of working together in the future, for now we are dispersing to pursue other projects and interests. We're still in love, we're just not married any more!! There are no musical differences, and no personal conflicts affecting our friendship with each other, just a desire to branch out and explore other areas of life and music.
The band would like to extend their infinite love and respect to those who have championed OMS over the years, whether from within the industry and the media or from without. Your support has been life-giving. An extra-special acknowledgement is due to the people who have come to our shows, and especially to the people in the pit, because without you there would have been no OMS, and without people to listen, music would be meaningless. You rule, we love you, and we miss you already!!
Looking to the future; Yap is going full-throttle into spoken word performances, and he is also working on a number of political and philosophical media projects.
Glen Diani and Massy Fiocco are currently considering and inviting other options. Eddie Stratton is currently filling in on drums with his friends in New Disease.

In 2008, Edwin Stratton was suffering severely from coeliac disease. He was arrested in mid-2008 after fire investigators, looking into a fire in a wine bar below his Leyton apartment, discovered cannabis plants in his home. Stratton stated that he was growing for medical use, but was charged with producing cannabis, exposing him to a potential maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. In November 2008, he was due to appear at the Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court and challenge the charge as a contravention of Article 14 of the Human Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination on any grounds.

Taken from Waltham Forrest Guardian Monday 26th April 2010 :
"A DISABLED man accused of growing cannabis will today try to convince a judge that his prosecution for growing the drug is discriminatory.
Edwin Stratton, 43, of High Road, Leyton, suffers from a gluten allergy and claims to need cannabis to alleviate his symptoms.
He has been given permission for a pre-trial hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court this morning where he will argue that the courts' application of the Misuse of Drugs Act is discriminatory under the Human Rights Act because other arguably more harmful drugs, such as cigarettes and alcohol, are legal.
Article 14 of the act prohibits discrimination on a number of grounds, including association with property. Mr Stratton will put am abuse of process argument before Judge Peter Birts QC.
Mr Stratton, who has already had a request for a judicial review turned down, has entered a provisional plea of not guilty, which will only stand if Justice Birts rules there was not an abuse of process. "
