On that home page, scroll down, way down, you will pass a large picture of an electric meter and a document called "Public Notice" (you will want to hang that on your electric meter).
Right below that is some short instructions titled TEXT OF LETTER FOR POWER COMPANY. The letter is right below that. Copy/paste that letter into your word processor, edit it according to the instructions, and send it to your power company. The sooner the better. They are sneaking these meters onto people's homes by the thousands.

My toothbrush? They may see the small, itty-bitty, spike in consumption when I plug it in, but even at a meter's potential smartest, the most it'll see is a small inductive load increase from the wall brick being plugged in when I charge it.

And is this very different from our existing meters? No. They already know how much you're using at a given time of day--how else do you get discounts for running the dryer at night? The only difference is that now their data is slightly higher resolution.

We are not interested in trivial defenses of surveillance on our homes. Digital meters cause EMR pollution, illness and injury and they invade our privacy. If you don't understand these are problems your comments will be removed.

Water co. sent us notice that our meter was broken & needed replacement. First guy I "scared" out of here, and then I called the office to make another app. I "explained" that due to med. equip. I have to use, my Dr. advised that the digital meter should not be installed. Water employ. said, "Oh, it looks like you just need a wire replaced." New guy comes & slips up and tells me that the co. is going around snipping the exterior wires,sending the replacement notice, then installing digital.

I have answered this many times. If you have nothing to hide, I invite you to post your passwords, logins, credit card numbers, social security number, bank account passwords, the location of your jewelery and where you keep your car keys. The expression "I have nothing to hide" is about as foolish as you can get. Your father did not teach his children the value of privacy. That was your father's failure.

We sent the registered letter, we told them NO when they rang to make an appointment. 3 times we've said NO.

Either my wife or myself are up and awake in this house - just discovered the bastards have fitted a meter ! They must have staked us out to find when we wouldn't be around as we work from home !

C'mon America, get a backbone and remove tyrannical law breaking corporations.

Add my location and comments to a list - works well for the government - use the same tactic.
