@indycolts4 The MGS theme has a quite similar first melody (here played first by the clarinet) and an even more similar second melody (here first the oboe). They're not identical, but as many as two melodies being as similar as in this case would be a super-duper unlikely coincidence. Or done on purpose. :P

Gregson Williams didn't come up with the MGS theme. It's interesting how even now some people often aren't aware the MGS theme was in MGS1 (composed by Tappi Iwase).

No one was ever sued as far as I'm aware. Kojima was shown how similar the themes were and took it out on his own accord. They weren't forced to do this.
