Iona National Airways is more than just the story of Ireland's First Airline. It embraces the golden era of aviation in Ireland when aircraft and flying first became within the reach of ordinary people of the country.Hugh Cahill, the founder of Iona. was a true pioneer not only as a result of his zeal and dedication but also in his exceptional business ability. He bought aviation to the people and consequently the people of aviation. Perarce Cahill, Hugh's son accepted delivery of the first commercial aircraft into Ireland in September 1930 at the age of 13yrs. He saw Iona through until it closed in the 1990's This programme is dedicated to Pearce Cahill's memories which he recalls at the age of 93 years.
