@MWRiff ...I think you're talking about "yodeling." It's when the singer rapidly changes pitch in a low-high-low pattern. It's common in Swiss and German folk music. Just enter yodeling into the youtube search box. (The pop singer Jewel is actually pretty good at yodeling!)

Please someone help me out here, Im trying to pinpoint a name for that vocal technique I hear (mainly) Irish women sing. Its like a really quick slide up when she sing "go on" and Tempt me, tease me etc" , its probably one of the best sounds in the world to me and Id love to be able to search for songs categorized by the technique, thanks!!
