Hasnt this 85% figure been challenged enough? I'm all for kids wearing helmets on cycles but we have to keep to the facts - and they are very hard to come by given the largely untested nature of cycle helmets

TBH cycle helmets are ideal for children as their skulls are as yet undeveloped, as is the brain - they are also unlikely to be travelling on busy roads within traffic. The kind of falls they sustain match the test criteria for how helmets are tested (under 1.5m and less than the 12mph SNELL and ANSII tests)

There is also a lot to be said for parents watching over their kids too. Many of the minor accidents that do happen are as a result of inattentive parenting sadly.
