@rafaeld101 No. District 9 was adapted from Neil Blomkamp's short 'Alive in Joburg', 2005. Although the costume design could have been influenced by the Halo series, among other biomech sources.

@ohhhprettylight no Avatar should have. Avatar was more memorable than any of the films nominated that year. They were all good but not as memorable as Avatar.

I loved the fucking robot scenes he goes beast in that thing!!! Wish he cudda killed all the humans in that. I hope there is another movie. Of how the prowns get rescued

JCFilms13 u asked whut happned in the ending?Wikus NOt VIKUS gets black engine ship fuel in his face he then turnes into a prawn and his wife pops up gets a flower she said'"sumone left this on my doorstep"Then last scene u see a prawn with ripped clothing standing on a pile of trash makin flowers and when he turnes u see the prawns eyes and u can tell its wikus.NOW i think district 10 will be wikus waiting on christopher cause he said it will take 3 years.Then it will show ships coming down.
District 9 should've won best picture NOT the hurt locker
