Minecraft 1.5 - Compact Minecart Station [Demo]

This is a quick video to show you guys what I am working on right now. The station acts like a subway platform, where you can stay in the cart to go to the next station. There is no station selection, as the stations should be chained together (remember, subway). The platform can be rotated 180 degrees to have both "north and southbound" platforms.

The key features of the station are its small footprint thanks to the super-compact redstone wiring. As well, it uses no glitch boosters so the station will still work once notch removes the glitching.

Wow, very well done :) I can appreciate the effort involved in making something like this.

Would it be much harder to make a "pick your destination" system with these powered rails?

@gleeson9 I wouldn't use this design directly, but a few simple modifications would work. You would most likely want to separate the departure bay from the arrival bay, and possibly move it to the other side (so it is closer to the selection switches you would create. Then you would want to remove the delay on the arrival dock and replace it with a pressure plate (to send the cart off when the person gets out).

I really like your design, It's elegant. When pistons are introduced I can really see how that would simplify things. and a detector rail that works on the same principle as the old (non rail) pressure plates.
