The Coffee Party Convention will take place in Louisville, KY September 24-26.

I look forward to joining you for three unforgettable days of collaboration with some of America's most respected thinkers and most innovative organizers, who are willing to take on leadership in this critical chapter in our nation's history.

We have participants and guests coming from all over the country to join our mission to counter the alienating hyper-partisanship undermining our political process, and address the serious problems facing our nation today. Please view our convention schedule here: http://www.democracymeetup.com/schedule/

By coming together in Louisville, we will lay the groundwork for a lasting movement to revitalize civic participation and restore balance to our political discourse.

If you need financial assistance to attend, please email us at hardship@democracymeetup.com.

Your donations will make possible the attendance of our incredibly talented core of college students organizing Coffee Party U, and make possible such luxuries as live-streaming the conference for those who want to participate at home.

  • Annabel, you seem very sincere about your cause, but you can't restore what never was. The United States of America is a Representative Constitutional Republic. Specifically designed NOT as a democracy. It is very sad that our Progressive (Marxist) public school system has stolen our children's futures. We'll get those futures back though. Believe it. I was a victim of the public school system, and it has taken me 40 years to "get it." They tried to make me hate America, but couldn't.

  • I hope they had actual coffee there to keep people awake....

  • the Tea Party is mostly dominated by the establishment, but there are plenty of good people out there who still know how to think for themselves

still the elections in November will probably result in most of the establishment staying in power or new establishment candidates being voted in. why is that? the majority of people in this country just enjoy being raped.

  • Then did the Tea Party knock off Republican establishment figures?

  • Great comment. Glad to see a fellow American make good comments. Thanks.

  • One has to define terms. It is simply common sense to know the difference between democraTIC and DemocraCY. But anyone with half a brain knows it is a Republic. And the entire purpose of a Republic is to avoid a DemocraCY. You can certainly use democraTIC as an adjective to describe parts of it. But America is and never has been a DemocraCY, pure or part.

It is scary to think of the education you kids are getting nowadays. But one would think this is common sense though.

  • um.... guys... I don't think there's a "Redman" Washington.

  • This is WONDERFUL!!!! VERY TIMELY!

  • I get it. The U.S.A. is not a pure democracy, nor was it ever mistaken for one.

Stating the U.S.A. is not a democracy is kind of like saying there is no such thing as a fair ball in baseball, because the foul pole is in fair territory. You could make that argument. But then again... why?
