@evilevo420 You don't know Toyota history, Toyota actually decided to drop that project, and that project with Toyota never went on. So it was never developed at all by those 2 companies together.

@anthonyrb20 look what america can do with an ohv motor. an lsx is lightweight and powerful as hell. and the 4.6 in the cobra is leagues beyond this motor. i mean the ccx uses one. also when the uz series engine was turbo charged and used as an aircraft engine, toyota turned to hamilton standard to help develope it. thats an american company based out of pittsburgh. fyi

Its resemblance to a race engine platform (6 bolt cross mains and over square configuration) was confirmed in 2007 by David Currier (in an interview with v-eight.com), vice president of TRD USA, stating that the 1UZ platform was based on CART/IRL engine design. It was planned to be used on GT500 vehicles, however its subsequent use in the Daytona Prototype use was not planned.

@anthonyrb20 i doubt it as well, so highly in fact, its not even on the plausible scale lol.... i mean, americans still build ohv V engines while everyone else has been building dohc for quite some time now, a 1uz 4.0L high reving quad cam v8 is completely out of the american league lol AND its not even new anymore and still out of their league lol

@enigmaPL LOL i doubt there will be a day when toyota need to go to the amercians for engine design help.

@mkIIIsupras ya thats what i mean. they have a good pull that will throw you in the seat but your not gunna trist frames or snap rear ends lol. cuz its not needed for this type of racing. i think this engine is a simple bute and wanna build a high comp beast like this for a steet car.

@fatdan172501 They dont have that nasty big block torque but they have a very solid powerband which produces solid torque all the way to redline.
