Greetings, friends.

Last week we asked a scholarly question.

And promised a free video game to our favorite answer.

Here is that question.

"Who is the biggest bad-ass in all of Middle Earth, and why?"

Using the 100+ answers we received, our in-house panel of scholars debated the qualities of bad-assery.

It's not just "most powerful."

That would of course mean someone like Morgoth, end of contest.

We wanted someone to make a case for a particular character.

Finally, after heated deliberation, we chose this answer:

Answer:

Glorfindel. By miles. He made the Witch King run away (And made the prophecy about how he would die). Kamikaze'd a Balrog. Came back to life. Scared the Nazgul just by being there, while Elrond and Gandalf flushed them away. Those are just the highlight reel, in between all those were countless battles and heroic deeds.
