This RCA 45 record player I had as a kid., the changer and amp did not work due to age. I had two changers stored for years for parts. The one stored changer's idler wheel had melted into the motor shaft and both the idler and cam hardened like a rock. In the 2nd changer both the idler and cam had soft pliable rubber and were in good condition, so I cleaned and installed them in this RCA. RCA had different rubber suppliers, and some have quality rubber that last and others deteriorate. I have seen some old rubber turn to a black sticky goo. I cleaned and oiled the changer and replaced the caps, and it has a new William Bosco stereo compatible cartridge. This video is also a test of the Williiam Bosco low rider, which claims you can play 15 45s, and apparently you can. The following songs that were used for demonstration, Be Bop a Lula- Gene Vincent, Just ask your heart- Frankie Avalon, Just as much as ever- Bobby Vinton, What will my mary say- Johnny Mathis, Diana- Paul Anka, Happy Organ- Dave Baby Cortez, Whatever Lola Wants- Patti Page, Susie Darlin- Robin Luke, Dede Dinah- Frankie Avalon, Swingin School- Bobby Rydell, alleghaney Moon- Patti Page, At the hop- Danny & the Juniors, To know him is to love him- The Teddy Bears, Emotions- Brenda Lee, Maybe- The Chantels. • great medley of tunes there.hard to believe that 45 record player can hold up so many 45s.is it hard to find parts in case your other broken down players don't have the parts you need?

  • @wfarrar69 New replacement parts are available on ebay, like idler wheels, cam wheels, cartrdiges, and some used parts as well.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a BAD idea to play your records while they are stacked? I thought that wore down all the records underneath the one that's playing...

  • @madeyes4u No it doesn't cause any problems.

  • The quality of the sound...PERFECT...ascribes to your restoration skill. Well done! Cassette players also suffer rubber melt esp in hot attics. I replaced the tape head also on a wide tall expensive boom box but it did not work. Still a good radio however...

  • @maynardcat RCA and other manufacturers of 45 rpm recods specifically designed the middle of the record to have a slight "lift" so the sides do not touch the playing surface:)

  • LOVE the style of music you are playing, too! OMG!! The Happy Organ!

  • I guess I can say I'm kind of like you...I like to collect virtually any type of recorded music as well as have something to play it on...

  • maynardcat;i'm glad ebay has available parts for this record player.i'll bet vintage players like those are rare and pretty expensive in great condition.thanks for showing your vintage record player and info. for anyone who wanted their record players back in playing condition.

  • aHHH the good old days
