At 15ºF, the fingers go numb pretty quick...even with shooting gloves. And you will need that dexterity to make the tough shot: a 3/8" circle at 25 yards with some wind blowing at times. The tool of choice here is the excellent and highly recommended Marlin 925 high value bolt action .22 rifle. It is outfitted with the Weaver RV9 .22 scope with adjustable objective. The system performs perfectly in the cold. Standard ammunition is used (Winchester Super X) and its accuracy is excellent. But these are some tough shots and we are lucky to get even half into the "kill zones." Of course the target is again my "Circles of Death" target sheet, revised to show rows of ten circles to correspond with the 10 rounds in the magazine. Three stations are used: dead tree support, prone, and the TNP Barricade and 30 rounds are expended on each run. Cr0cket20 comes along for this drill and we show one run a piece here as we have lots more testing to complete on this day. The COD Drill is probably best performed indoors but with light winds it's do-able at your outdoor range as well. But the cold and snow brings a whole new level of challenge here. Hopefully the vid isn't too boring.////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale for Marlin 925: 10 out of 10 /////////////////// Music: www.danosongs.com and Williamberry (remix of Brad Sucks I believe)

  • nutn,

you need to throw a wihite-out duracoat on that marlin 25. That would be new and a second kind of cool. Think about it. Great vid. Thanks for all your hard work.

  • @JAYDEE44 "you need to throw a wihite-out duracoat on that marlin 25. That would be new and a second kind of cool. " That would be ultra sick.

  • aha don't take offense to this but until i saw this video (cuz i can see your face) i thought you were like 16 :P

  • I have the same marlin. But mine is a single shot. I still love it after almost 5 years.

  • Hey Nutn you should post where you got the target at. Is it a PDF that I can find online? Could I make it myself?

  • hey for the second station, isnt it bad to rest the barrel on the rest? because wouldnt that bend the barrel? for the m16a4 when i went to SDM (squad designated marksman) they told us using a bi-pod or resting just the barrel makes you shoot high......just wondering

  • Awesome video yet again! But FYI, resting the barrel like that will usually affect accuracy in a negative way. Make the contact point on the stock, not the barrel, and you may see more hits. ymmv.

  • I think a scoped Anschutz Biathlon rifle could manage those condititons. Now if I only had 4000 bucks for one.

  • is crocket wearing the KZ tactical vest?

  • 20 degrees? Pffffffft in wisconsin we still have our shorts on haha! Try negative forty. Love the vids!

  • I liked this video @ 00:27, gangster soundtrack. Yes, I am white.

  • Lol @ 9:10-9:20 "rips ass" haha I bet u got warm from that one!
