Souvenir Coin Packaging Workcell - BCIT Mechatronics and Robotics Department - Student Project by Kirby and Alex.
The purpose of this workcell is to assemble several components into a finished souvenir token. Coins, cards, and plastic faces are fed via part feeders to two robots. The robots assemble the parts while a third robot places glue on the assembly. The parts are assembled into a finished product and placed into an output tray. The cell is controlled by a PLC. Numerous sensors and pneumatic actuators are used to transfer materials and thermoform the plastic parts. This was their final project for the Mechatronics and Robotics department at BCIT, the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
