What an amazing commentary on mainstream beauty in the western world. Did you hear where it says being an aerobics champion, an athlete OR a beauty queen, today's woman wants it ALL? Is that NOT the standard to which all women are now held? I am amazed at fitness competitors, but should this be the ideal? Should every woman, every single time, be a gymnast? This is what Hollywood now looks like! Yeah, I know, it's hot, whatever dudes. This is a specific art, not for the general population.

Fitness competitions showcase the best of female Kinesiology and beauty.
The only thing that comes close to this level of comprehensive performance and beauty is professional ballroom dancing.
I'll throw in pole dancing as an honorable mention.

Yes it was her. she talked about her goals to become a top women wrestler. She had cosmetic surgery done to her face.

I recorded the program when Amy Fadhli won. Once, I seen her in the swimsuit round. I was hooked. Wow! The best behind that I ever seen.
Amy even appeared in a very short movie,
The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special pt 1. at 1:10.

Candace Head had a great performance in '95 too.

This promo is one of my favorites :) haha Mia's biceps impressed Laurie Donnelly, a previous winner.
Amy Fadhli was fantastic. Shit this is like a wayback machine for me.
I had the show on a vhs tape of her victory. Stupid that I am. I erased it by accident. a recording I did, recorded over it. Wished ESPN could run the past contests again.
There was also a Fitness America contest that included a contestant that became Chyna of WWE .She discussed her goals. She said that she was determined. Look she succeeded. She made it to the top.

Joanie Laurer is Chyna's real name. Are you sure that was her? I always pictured her as having a bodybuilding background but I've seen her do cartwheels and hand springs in her matches so who knows...
WHO KNOWS, maybe ESPN will run old shows in their ESPN Classics channel? I don't think they own the rights to re-broadcast those contests anyway, but I'd love to see contests before 1996 myself.
