does this work for version 1.4.1?
-
FYI I am using the latest firmware released a month ago
-
I thought this was quite helpful. I would recommend win32diskimager release .1 (.2 doesn't work) for creating the image since it is very easy to use and free. Just copy the binary zip file to a directory extract it and run the .exe. Then enter the file name for the image and and the drive letter for the SD card and click write and you are good to go

@Tizzyups agreed. testing my sanity. inspiration to take some computer courses for sure.

@anamardoll thank you.

@verbalkungfu 1.3 works for some people, but if you want to be sure, you can flash back to the oldest firmware.
Look for the link to the Unlockr in the linked blog post. That should let you start as fresh as possible. :)

there is nothing simple about this!! Can someone PLEASE give me simple step-by-step instructions before I smash my Nook into little tiny pieces? I am an intelligent person and have looked at half a dozen sites that give instructions on how to use my nook as a tablet, both by rooting or using the CM7 method. I have been doing this for 3 HOURS and have no results. Please help me...AHHHHHH!!!!!
Thanks for the vid. Is there any difference in performance when you run CM7 off the SD Card versus installing it on the internal drive?

@stockton350 I don't actually know. I think I've heard people say that it's zippier on the internal drive, but I don't know if that's true. The CM7 forums might know.

@alexoayala I've not looked into dual booting, but I think some people online have done so. I'd google Nook Color CM7 Dual Boot.

Aloha...
I expect that the bigger the SD card the better, but what is the smallest one you can use for experimenting?
Fine tutorial!

@tanalee09 I've had several people tell me that they've managed just fine with a 4GB card. :)
