  • Wow, if you ever saw Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" you would appreciate the crappiness of this film in a much deeper way.

  • You're amazing for posting this! Thank you so much.

Although, admittedly, I no longer get anything done, as I'm typically too busy watching MST3K.

    Worth it.

  • @negascoot23 All I know is that in the 80s Plan 9 was voted the worst movie ever made by a lot of critics. But thanks for the info.

  • @gotch09

Bela died before Plan 9 was even in production: His "scenes" in the film were footage Wood shot with Bela just for fun, basically. After he died, Wood took that footage and built a movie around it, using a stand-in for the rest of the scenes of Bela's character.

And Plan 9 is nowhere NEARLY the worst movie ever made--not anymore, at least...Most recent polls give that honor to "Manos" The Hands of Fate.

  • @negascoot23 Was this the film Wood made immediately before "Plan 9 From Outer Space" with Bela? I don;t know how far into Plan 9, but I think Bela keeled over dead. Anyhow PLAN 9 has consistently been voted the worst movie of all time. The stand-in they put in for Bela was hilarious.

  • They tampered in God's domain.

  • ♪ It's a sinister day in the laboratory, a sinister day in the lab...♫

  • the whole Roy and The Octopus scene is great!

  • Ed Wood really did pursue his bliss didn't he! MST3K Best line "HE'LL WANT TO SEE THESE"!!!

  • Ed might not have had talent, but he more than made up for it in passion. Just goes to show you, never let people tell you you're bad at doing something you love--even if they're right.

  • @RichterTheEternal Wood's problem was, he just plain didn't know what he was doing: He had no idea what a director was SUPPOSED to do, as far as setting up shots or telling the actors how to act-- He never shot more than one take, for god's sake. And he was forever trying to do things his minuscule budgets couldn't pull off.

  • @GoblinXXX Really??...Wow. The man had his own vision. Shame it wasn't mutual to most critics and audiences alike on what makes a good movie. I suppose you can put him on the level as more of an artist than a movie maker. His "art" seemed more beautiful to him than anyone else could see.
