Inuit women of northern Canada developed a unique, guttural vocal style that involves short, sharp, rhythmic inhalations and exhalations of breath. Inuit sisters Karin and Kathy Kettler, of northern Quebec, Canada, explain the history of the vocal style and illustrate the technique.

  • @CyborgNinja7 I Know right.. But i sing it to my sister at night when she pisses me off ಠ_ಠ

  • Oh this is great. I watched a tutchone native woman ( Champagne-Aishikih First Nations ) once, singing similar to her baby and I think it's wonderful, nothing 'scary'

Looks like fun rather, if people make for a competition.

  • VERY STRANGE TO ME, A PERSON KNOWING WHAT THROAT SINGING IS CONSIDERED. IT SOUNDS LIKE TWO SEALS ARE BUMPING ON EACH OTHER.

  • this is the sound of the earth!

  • Fascinating and lovely. I wish more people would be open/used to hearing music in its rawest form

  • I appreciate this! this is Art and tradition.

  • @PurpleHat1991 lol Agreed. Neither of us are getting anywhere with this.

  • @TheSaucyAuto lol lets just agree to disagree. you are never going to be able to convince me that this is amazing

  • @PurpleHat1991 True. You can't lose what you didn't have to begin with.

  • @TheSaucyAuto lol you made me lose nothing
