It's kinda sad how so many people don't realize this is satirical. She's mocking the media, not selling out.

Mocking or using, this video is a reminder of how media and the masses can turn the seemingly mundane and inane manners around us into a business. I like it simply because it was surprising to see Jewel in a different light. Just like the various subject matters in the video. Imagine the very act of drinking can transform that simple act into a multi-million business empire.

I love the fact half the people who come watch this don't understand what the video is about. They don't understand the reason that the picture is gray and raw in some shots and clear and HD in others. They don't understand the lyrics or anything. It makes this song seem so much more special to me because I actually understand it and can appreciate it that much more.  It's like my own little secret not many other people understand.

@DulceSoprano Well... although the point can easily be misconstrued I think... I think that was the point. Like I don't follow her or know much about her (or care, no offense really) BUT I think that's what she was tryin' to say about media/music/everyone else. I think this is an artistic demonstration, ya know? Course I could always be wrong...

To all the bitchy comments:

1. Good lyrics, she sounds great. So if you have a problem with her sexiness, look away.

2. If you listen to her more recent albums, you'll find she has definitely stuck with down to earth folk music, singing of god, ect. In interviews she said she made this album for FUN. And as many have pointed out, she is mocking media traits in this video, not selling out. And even if she did become a shallow performer like Spears or Gaga.. She doesn't exist for YOU, ya know.

@Boojie30 Exactly! Now most of singers sell with her body, not with talent like Adele. She is an example of talent
