this isn't necessary, just screw on the circuit board from the old drive to the new one, you have to cut the tray motor wires, rewire them to the new one. If you don't want to cut the wires or don't like rewiring, remove the tray motor with the wires and circuit board in one peice from the old drive to the new one and you have to remove the new tray motor in the new drive to switch the old motor in and keep the new motor as a replacement, then insert all strips into the circuit board ports.

I'm sure your method is probably a viable one, but most people don't have the know-how to do it. Hell, most people will look at my video and say "Screw that." Just being honest.
