Tim Hatcher -- "Softly, As in a Morning Sunrise" on ukulele

This song is from the 1928 operetta, THE NEW MOON, which included other well-known songs such as "Stout-hearted Men" and "Lover, Come Back to Me". The 1940 movie version (simply called NEW MOON) starred Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy.

I first heard the song in a high-energy recording by the great Bobby Darin.

WOW. That is a wonderful piece. I didn´t know that operetta. I will research on it though. If I had a career as performer, this is the music I´d love to perform.
